The top six totals
Consensus snapshot from FantasyData at 5:05 a.m. PT Friday. Implied totals are calculated from the listed spread and game total; quarter points are normal.
1. Bills at Raiders: 53.5
The market is making its loudest statement here. The total has climbed six points from a tracked 47.5 opener, even as Buffalo's advantage has compressed from early numbers. That combination favors a competitive, high-possession game more than a one-sided Buffalo script.
Fantasy call
STACK FIRSTBuffalo 29.0 · Las Vegas 24.5 implied points
Josh Allen and James Cook remain foundation starts. Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman are usable ceiling plays if Buffalo's Friday report leaves DJ Moore or Joshua Palmer limited. On the other side, Ashton Jeanty's full Thursday practice supports his normal role; Brock Bowers' limited work makes his final designation the key run-back decision.
DFS: Allen plus one pass catcher with Jeanty or an active Bowers is the cleanest correlation. Do not force a second Bills receiver until the inactive list clarifies the rotation.
2. Cowboys at Packers: 53.0
This is the best balanced total: only one point separates the implied scores. Market trackers place the opener between 49.5 and 51.5, so the direction is clearly upward even if the exact starting number differs by book. That supports both quarterbacks and reduces concern that either offense disappears through game script.

START BOTH QBsGreen Bay 27.0 · Dallas 26.0 implied points
Jordan Love and Dak Prescott are strong one-quarterback starts. CeeDee Lamb practiced fully Thursday and belongs in every lineup. Green Bay's backfield and secondary receiving roles need more caution because the injury report remains crowded; Christian Watson is the cleaner ceiling bet than chasing a thin rotational receiver.
Weather: Green Bay forecasts range from roughly 10 mph sustained wind to a more cautious 18 mph with stronger gusts. No automatic downgrade yet, but recheck Sunday afternoon before using kickers or fringe deep threats.
3. Cardinals at Rams: 52.0
The total is attractive, but the 12.5-point spread is the real fantasy signal. Los Angeles carries a slate-high 32.25 implied points; Arizona is below 20. This is a Rams-on-slot environment, not a blanket instruction to start every Cardinal.
Fantasy call
RAMS PRIORITYLos Angeles 32.25 · Arizona 19.75 implied points
Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams get the market's strongest team-total endorsement. Trey McBride can still win on concentrated targets in a trailing script. Arizona's backfield is the conflict point: James Conner and Trey Benson are out, while Jeremiyah Love entered Friday questionable. Opportunity may be concentrated, but health and negative game script cap confidence.
DFS: Stafford stacks are more attractive than full game stacks. Use one high-volume Arizona run-back rather than assuming the underdog reaches its share of 52.
4. Bears at Falcons: 51.5
A one-point spread and two implied totals above 25 make this the best sleeper game on the board. Caleb Williams and Michael Penix Jr. both returned to full participation Thursday, so the scoring environment and likely quarterback availability agree.
Fantasy call
SLEEPER STACKChicago 26.25 · Atlanta 25.25 implied points
Bijan Robinson and Drake London stay locked in. Williams and Penix are viable tournament or superflex options, but the market cannot solve uncertain target concentration by itself. Colston Loveland and Kyle Pitts remain role-first decisions, not automatic starts because the total begins with a five.
Weather: The retractable-roof setting limits concern. The more important late check is Kyle Monangai's Friday status after a Thursday absence.
5. Commanders at 49ers: 51.0
San Francisco's 29.25 implied points support Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey, but the 7.5-point spread creates second-half volume risk for secondary receivers. Deebo Samuel's hamstring injury also changes how those expected points should be distributed.
Use the total, then use the depth chart: Purdy and McCaffrey are premium plays. Brandin Cooks is a flex-level beneficiary, not a direct Samuel replacement. For the full late-window contingency plan, read Fballer's Deebo Samuel Week 6 injury update.
Line movement that should change decisions
47.5 → 53.5
The week's largest total increase. It strengthens close-call Buffalo receivers and supports a Raiders run-back, subject to Friday health news.
At least +1.5
Different books show different openers, but the market has moved upward. Treat Love and Prescott as starts, not merely matchup streamers.
LAR −10.5 → −12.5
The movement concentrates confidence on Rams scoring. It does not increase Arizona's implied opportunity.
46.5 → 41.5–42.5
A major downward total paired with a much larger Kansas City spread. Start stars, but avoid using this as a bring-back-heavy DFS stack.
Week 6 start, stream and sleeper board
- Start with confidence: Josh Allen, James Cook, Dak Prescott, Jordan Love, CeeDee Lamb, Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, Kyren Williams, Christian McCaffrey.
- Streaming quarterbacks: Jameis Winston has a neutral 45.5-point pick'em against New Orleans; Love and Prescott are priorities if they are somehow available in shallow leagues.
- Higher-total sleepers: Khalil Shakir, Michael Wilson and Brandin Cooks can benefit from their environments, but each still needs a usable route and target projection.
- DFS game stacks: BUF–LV first, DAL–GB second, CHI–ATL as the lower-rostered pivot. Favor Rams one-sided stacks over full ARI–LAR stacks.
- Lower-total caution: Cleveland–Baltimore, Carolina–Philadelphia and Pittsburgh–Tampa Bay sit at 41 or below on the Friday board. Volume can beat environment, but fringe pass catchers need a stronger role case.
A high total raises the probability of touchdowns; it does not guarantee touches. Break close calls with implied scoring only after checking routes, carries, injury replacements and game-script resilience. Use Fballer's live waiver wire and team trend pages for the opportunity side of the decision.
Weather, byes and the final check
Cincinnati, Detroit, Miami and Minnesota are on bye. The highest-total games are indoors or carry manageable early forecasts. The exception worth monitoring is Dallas–Green Bay because wind projections differ, while Pittsburgh–Tampa Bay could see 15-plus mph wind in a game already priced below 40. Recheck forecasts, Friday designations and Sunday inactive lists before kickoff; totals and spreads can move at any time.
Bottom line
Week 6 offers two clean shootout targets: Bills–Raiders and Cowboys–Packers. Rams stars have the strongest team-level ceiling, Chicago–Atlanta supplies the contrarian stack, and San Francisco's expected scoring should flow through established healthy options. Use the market as a probability signal—not a promise—and let opportunity win every tie the line cannot settle.
