The top remaining totals
DraftKings snapshot recorded through Odyn at 4:58 a.m. PT Friday. Implied totals are calculated from the listed spread and game total; sportsbook numbers can differ.
1. Ravens at Bills: 54.5
The total has climbed three points from 51.5, and the three-point spread leaves both offenses live deep into the fourth quarter. Buffalo's 28.75 implied points lead the Sunday afternoon games, while Baltimore's 25.75 is high enough to support multiple fantasy starters.
Fantasy call
STACK FIRSTBuffalo 28.75 · Baltimore 25.75 implied points
Josh Allen, James Cook, Derrick Henry and Zay Flowers are foundation plays. Lamar Jackson returned to full practice Thursday, a major improvement after the ankle issue that cost him Week 6. Buffalo's pass-catching tree needs Friday confirmation because Dalton Kincaid and DJ Moore were limited, while Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer were cleared.
DFS: Allen with one or two healthy pass catchers and a Flowers, Henry or Mark Andrews run-back is the slate's cleanest correlation. Jackson stacks are equally viable once his final designation confirms no workload concern.
2. Cardinals at Cowboys: 54.5
This game owns the week's biggest upward move, rising five points from 49.5 while Dallas shortened from a 10.5-point favorite to seven. The market still expects Dallas to score the most points on the slate, but it now gives Arizona a better chance to keep the game useful.
Fantasy call
DALLAS PRIORITYDallas 30.75 · Arizona 23.75 implied points
Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb receive the strongest team-level endorsement of Week 8. Jake Ferguson and Javonte Williams benefit from the same scoring environment. George Pickens is the health check after limited work. Arizona's cleanest run-back is Trey McBride; Jeremiyah Love, Tyler Allgeier and Michael Wilson all carried injury uncertainty into Friday.
DFS: Build around Dallas first and use one concentrated Arizona target. A high total does not solve the Cardinals' uncertain backfield distribution.
3. Vikings at Lions: 46.5
The total is down one point from the opener, but the three-point spread and indoor setting keep this as the most balanced game in the second tier. Detroit's Wednesday absences looked alarming; Thursday's report was much better.
Fantasy call
ROLE SIGNAL WINSDetroit 24.75 · Minnesota 21.75 implied points
Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown upgraded from DNP to full participation and belong in normal lineups. Jared Goff is a solid streamer at home. Aaron Jones improved from DNP to limited, but his knee status and the lower Minnesota implied total make him more fragile than the Lions' core players.
DFS: Use this as a lower-owned game stack only if Jones' Friday designation confirms his role. Otherwise, concentrate on Detroit and Justin Jefferson.
The 46.5-point cluster is not one signal
Colts at Jaguars
JAX 28.25The total fell three points while Jacksonville's spread grew from −4.5 to −10. That supports Jaguars scoring and defense, but it weakens full-game stacking. Wind around 17 mph with stronger gusts adds another reason to favor rushing volume and short-area targets over fringe deep threats.
Titans at Bengals
CIN 29.5Cincinnati carries the slate's second-highest implied team total, yet the 12.5-point spread creates late passing-volume risk. Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase remain starts; the Titans' Carnell Tate, Tyjae Spears and Calvin Ridley entered Friday with health questions, making a Tennessee run-back difficult to trust.
Bears at Seahawks
MONDAY PIVOTA three-point spread supports both sides, but Monday requires a bench plan. Jaxon Smith-Njigba's Thursday absence was rest-related, while Rashid Shaheed and Seattle's offensive line need monitoring. Zach Charbonnet practiced fully; Kyle Monangai did not practice for Chicago.
Line movement that changes fantasy decisions
49.5 → 54.5
The week's largest rise. Dallas stacks gain value, and the tighter spread improves Arizona run-back viability.
51.5 → 54.5
Jackson's full practice aligns health with the market. This is the best two-sided fantasy environment.
41.5 → 45.5
A four-point rise turns Ashton Jeanty, Brock Bowers and Garrett Wilson into more appealing ceiling plays, but it does not erase quarterback volatility.
46.5 → 40.5
The favorite flipped from Philadelphia −2.5 to Washington −6. Treat Eagles skill players as role-dependent starts, not environment plays.
Week 8 start, stream and sleeper board
- Start with confidence: Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson if active, James Cook, Derrick Henry, Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Trey McBride, Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase.
- Streaming quarterbacks: Jared Goff offers the safest blend of indoor conditions and competitive spread. Trevor Lawrence has a strong team total, though Jacksonville's large spread can reduce fourth-quarter passing.
- Higher-total sleepers: Khalil Shakir or Keon Coleman can gain routes if Buffalo's injured receivers are limited. Jake Ferguson benefits from Dallas' 30.75 implied points. Michael Wilson is usable only if his ribs and route expectation are cleared.
- DFS stacks: BAL–BUF first, DAL–ARI second, MIN–DET third. CHI–SEA is the prime-time alternative with late-swap flexibility.
- One-sided builds: Use Bengals and Jaguars stars without automatically forcing a Titans or Colts bring-back.
A high total increases touchdown probability; it does not create snaps. Break close calls with implied scoring only after checking routes, carries and injury replacements. Use Fballer's Friday injury pivot board, Week 8 waiver guide and live waiver wire for the opportunity side.
Weather, byes and late-week checks
Houston, New Orleans, the Giants and San Francisco are on bye. The two highest-total games are weather-safe: Buffalo's forecast is calm and Dallas has a retractable roof. Minnesota–Detroit and Chargers–Rams are indoors.
The watch list is Jacksonville, where wind could reach roughly 17 mph with stronger gusts, plus the three Florida games. Atlanta–Tampa Bay and New England–Miami carry the greatest rain concern, while Jacksonville has both wind and possible showers. Weather forecasts and lines can change; recheck Sunday morning before downgrading established stars or using kickers.
Bottom line
Ravens–Bills is the best true shootout stack. Cardinals–Cowboys offers the slate's strongest one-team ceiling through Dallas, with Arizona best used selectively. Detroit's core players have cleaner health signals than Wednesday suggested, while Cincinnati and Jacksonville should be approached as favored-team environments. Use totals as probability signals, not guarantees, and let confirmed opportunity break every tie.
